Lending me

Sit silent as the night rolls through the sky,
And let the wonders of it pass you by,
When it’s all over, I promise that you’ll hear,
The running of the everlasting fear,
And if you live, like one has lived before,
With the knocking at the empty door,
I’ll let this go as it may, and just be here,
Letting you in, letting you hear,
The voices I let go, when only one’s around,
Who will not give me up to just a frown,
Who lives this way because this is the choice,
She has made, this everlasting voice,
May it be that you find all you want,
Give yourself to laughter, and to rant,
I don’t see how, but I am sure you do,
The things so different, so new,
In me and in this world that is so free,
I am giving up this moment, lending part of me.
