Alone

The silhouettes of loveliness

Are lost

Left only are the faces

Of the cost

Past the late hours

The hunger burns too strong

The taste of love

Fills all hearts with song

One lonely knight

True loves

And loves alone

For everything he loves

He loves alone

And into day

The worldly loves

Do fall

He waits alone

For the humble call

And yet lifts not a finger

For their life

He falls alone

To live

And never right

For in between the words

There is that tone

That everything he loves

He loves alone

Oh, woe

The weary knight

Falls to the ground

And yet somehow

He doesn’t make a sound
